In the latest issue of Amiga Computing (Nov 96), there is an updated interview with Phase 5's Wolf Dietrich (see page 42). I found the following to be of interest: ---- Q: What are your immediate plans for the Amiga as a computer? A: ...In 1997 we will introduce a computer system which is based on a chipset we currently have under development. This development will result in a really breathtaking computer system, and we hope to find additional partners to make this new technology available in other systems and different product classes as well. [On CyberGraphX 3.0]: ...We will have CyberGL, which is a subset of the OpenGL standard offering lots of functionality to 3D programmers... ---- Regarding Phase 5's intention to allow its technology to become available "in other systems": while this could potentially be very profitable for the company, it would also immediately eliminate any technical advantages that their Amiga clone offers over competing platforms. Would someone (Ralph Schmidt?) care to comment further on this?
