On these pages you'll find information related to my professional life as a database professor at the university (NTNU) in Trondheim (population: 170 000) in the middle of the little (4.5 million) and rich (oil and gas, you know) and somewhat strange country called Norway (the way to the North). To boost my self-centredness I also bother you with some of the results from my photography. When I'm not at work I spend most (all?) of my time caring for Ane (23 år), Hedda (20 år) and Nora (17 år) – a lot of work but highly rewarding.
Most of my working hours I can be found in room 206 in the IT-vest building at Gløshaugen campus. I'll answer on phone number +47 7359 3675 (office) as well as my mobile phone +47 99 572 420. Fax can be sent to +47 7359 4466. Ordinary mail must be addressed to Sem Sælands vei 7-9, NO-7491 Trondheim, Norway. Email that I would want to recieve can be sent to roger_at_idi_ntnu_no (make the appropriate substitutions).
I grew up at Selfors which is one of the suburbs of Mo i Rana, a little town just south of the arctic circle. If you ever go there, you will find that the city centre is neither very beautiful nor particular interesting. However, the surroundings are excellent and caters for a wide variety of outdoor experiences. More information on Mo i Rana can be found by following these links: Polarsirkel-landet- tourist information, Rana Blad - the local newspaper.
